Finally the second game is over. We who were there will never forget Mats Sundin and his five won teaks in the swedish zone in the final minutes, being nervous if the result (0-0) was to keep, everything! One cannot describe the feeling that after five Championships and tens of thousands of spent swedish crowns FINALLY get to see Sweden take the Gold!
The Swedish team skates around the arena under an ENORMOUS cheer from the swedish audience.
Mats Sundin is as happy as can be when skating around with the price that shows that Sweden has the best Hockey-team in the world 1998.
Micke Renberg with the World Championship-trophy and Mats Sundin in the background looks everything but unhappy...
Fredner is in da house!!!
Of course pictured with a nice-looking girl by his side - in this case Marie. This pic was taken outside the arena right after Sweden hat taken the Gold.

At the "after party" does Mikael Renberg of course write his name on Noelles t-shirt.

Well, to make a logs story a short one we did of course party the whole noght through. Sofia, the girl that arranged for us to stay so cheap at the hotel is having breakfast with us the day after the Gold. We weren´t too awake the day after mostly due to the partying that (of course) took place the night before. She also complained over Gab:s and Fredners drinking-habits and that the two of them were shaking like leafs beacuse of this. But what the heck, this is a price that one is prepared to pay once per year. But for this time the championships were over and it feels like an eternity before we can go to Norway... See ya there!

As usual is there a lot of more stories to be told about this championship, like when the swiss police was complainig on Fredners VW-bus, that the same bus was to catch fire during the trip home to Sweden and lots, and lots of more but that can we talk about at the next championship.

Svea Svin ranks The championships in 1998.

Motivation: This was probably the most unorganised Championship that we have attended. We are not thinking about the organisers, but ourselves. First of all we weren´t thinking about going to Switzerland at all, but lots of different reasons made us come down anyway. The swiss organisers showed that they were just as good in organising the Championships as the Italians and the Austrians. Our 7 in grade is beacuse we unfortunately wasn´t at the entire championship and due to the fact that there weren´t any beertent in Zürich. Sure, there was this HUGE beer-hall, but that´s not... the same thing. The Championships in Zürich was a really gret one after all and we can just say Bene, Trez bien, Wunderbar Zürich!!!
