Ice Hockey World Championship
in Austria 1996 - Vienna

Sweden was playing its starting round out at subway station “Kagran” that was located at the very end of U1. The hall is named Albert Schulz Eishalle and was severely bigger than the hall we had seen in for example Canazei two years ago. But it was also significantly smaller than the arena where the final games were to take place.

In connection to the arena there was a small “World championships village” and had been built especially for this purpose and there were also a huge parking lot where we were to have our caravan parked.

Fredner is getting acquainted with this orchestra that was playing. He had pushed away the conductor and started to wave like only Fredner can when he is drunk. Here Fredner is showing Gerhard his home made alcohol that he had made especially for this occasion. Gerhard don´t care, he never cared about what we did. Such s wonderful policeman!

Before the game against the Czechs there is a big need for shouting and screaming and cheering for Sweden. Of course we were having this fun together with the Czech fans but it cannot be seen on this picture.

Johnny believes in victory against the Czechs. Gabbe seems not to be too sure of this though.

We were in Vienna for another couple of days and then it was a break for Sweden for some days so we decided to shout at Patrik, force him into the caravan and drive us to…
