Ice Hockey World Championship
in Austria 1996 - Vienna
Once again back at Kaktus for some serious partying after the game SWE-FIN and once again the Swedish is setting the pace when it comes to partying. An incredible mood inside Kaktus where Gabbe, Johnny and Fredner is dancing on the tables together with some other great Swedish supporters.

Up on the bar! This is also a part of the Championship spirit, and then a follow-up with some striptease…
As we said, as much party as we had at Kaktus have we not had before and we wonder if it will be for a very long time again.
We have more pictures from this but we respectfully don´t publish them.
Sweden lost in the Quarterfinal against USA and we decided to go back to Sweden after this terrible defeat. Patrik found this poster and said to Gabbe “Take her on her tits and I will take a picture”. Of course!
We left Muppa in Fulda on the way back and looked forward to the net Championship in Finland next year.
Home in Gothenburg there is nothing much more to do than to clean the caravan, which was not so nice considering what a terrible life we had had in it during the last ten days. Yes, it was “just” ten days that we spent in Austria, but that was some days!
And the World Championships in Ice Hockey is over for this year, but it is just 50 weeks until the next one.

Motivation: We can only say that the Austrians had arranged a true super event, and we have never had so much fun, been so welcomed everywhere and had so many laughs as in Austria.
Also we were really organized this year compared to the Championships two years ago so even out living conditions were great in every way.
The Austrian organizers, the police and the staff at the arenas and the surrounding areas were all great and they were always smiling and showing a friendly attitude regardless of how drunk we were.
It was in Austria that we once again could party like never before, to experience again the true spirit of the championships and we will remember the World Championships in 1996 as one of the best supporter moments in our lives.
Thank you Austria for everything, we want to have the Weltmeistershaft in Austria again!!!
The Championships in Austria gets a rock hard 9 out of 10 and if they had only had the first games in a smaller town, like the Italians had two years ago then Austria 1996 had gotten a 10, without discussion.
The World Championships...
Best partyplace: Was, without discussion, Kaktus by Schwedenplatz. What a place, what a party! Go there and have fun, you will not be disappointed, we promise you that!
Worst rookies:
Must be a new gang that calls themselves “Ruskiga Röjarna” (the terrible party people) that managed to plan the Championships so bad that they were still on the bus down to Austria when they heard on the radio that both Sweden and Finland got kicked out from the Tournament! It is not easy being a rookie. Worst sightseeing: The tour around Bratislava that we got together with two drunken narcotics police was a true terror. Imagine the movie “The French connection” and multiply with five and you might get an idea.
The most important items for sale during the Championships:
This years scarf was the longest tht we have encountered so far. 185 cm and therefore perfect to use also as a real scarf.
Unfortunately it only came in four variations for Austria, Germany, Canada and USA.
Four variations of patches was available. One with the logo and three variants with Bully the mascot. Just like we want it!
