Time for quarterfinal.
The Swedish team, Tre Kronor, was playing like a dream and it was time for quarter final against USA. This should be no problem.

A quick visit into a store and load up with Bacardi breezers. They tried to sell us two boxes, but we thought that one was good enough for us at the time.

Time for lunch. Fredner wanted to go to a “finer place” so we stumbled into one of the restaurants that was located next to the yellow tents.
Also note our Belorussian flag that we had bought especially for this day since finland was to meet the Belorussians in their quarterfinal.

This is one of the most disgusting things that we have seen for a long time. Jörgen decided that to the food he wanted to have a… COSMOPOLITAN!
Nowadays we call this combination “summer plate a la Jörgen” and it consists of Pasta penne with seafood and a sex and the city drink.

The Belorussian corner at the Yellow tents. Jörgen shows where we have our loyalty. Yes, we know it’s a small one, but we couldn’t find any one bigger.

This is what happens when leaving people alone for a couple of hours. And we wonder two things.

1. What the hell has Nilses painted on his chin?
2. What is he doing out at Riga arena?

A supporter gang from finland had dressed up as hippies and that were singing and having a good time at Riga arena. Really nice people and a funny and unorthodox addition to the supporter group.

Gabbe, Patrik and Jörgen in the crowd by the tents by Skonto arena.

Tanja and Jorma inside the arena before the game SWE-USA.

We are not going to bore you with a lot of unnecessary pictures from the game, but can conclude the game with that the Swedish steel was totally destroying the American resistance. The Yankees were playing so bad that one wonders if they had to pay for every time they had the puck or something.

Soon time for the National anthem.

As normal we headed off to Sveik after the game to pour in whatever was available during the night. Here is almost the entire crowd from the “Briza-boys” that were on location in Riga. Lots of people that one has met during earlier World Championships.
Gee, we were drinking!

Whose team will hold the World Championships cup on Sunday? Briza and Gabbe had completely different opinions in this matter.

After the game against the US we were giving it all inside Sveik together with Briza and his buddies. So much partying it was just insane!

Ladda hem QuickTime player här.

Since Sveik was to close and we are drawn to alcohol like a latent lesbian to a vacant position as a gymnastics teacher it was time for us to move on to Go-Go La Vida in the Old town. This de-luxe establishment always kept their doors open for us.

Jörgen is keeping the spinning in the head on a steady level.

A Swiss supporter, that seems to have been left behind after his friends went home to Switzerland, is partying together with a guy from Svenska VM-klubben (The Swedish World Championships Club).

Also Nilses is partying like there is no tomorrow. So hard that the paint in his face is slowly dripping away. Nice? No, not at all.

Where are the chicks? WHERE THE HELL ARE THE CHICKS??? Briza, Nilses and Jörgen are sweeping with their blurry eyes inside Go-Go La Vita.

Oh yeah. Now we’re talking!

It was not hard at all to persuade her to put on the hockey jersey of the Olympic Champions and then jump up on the bar and dance around.
Very stylish, elegant and nice.

McWalk.
Time for some night food. The rain was pouring down and Briza did his very best to annoy and harass the staff at McDonalds. He constantly rang the bell by the counter when he wanted contact with them, or when he… just wanted to ring it. He became like crazy and put on a McDonalds bag and laughed and screamed “Look, a Latvian party hat!” of course he was ringing the bell at the same time.
Everyone that has ever worked in a restaurant knows that this is the kind of people that one really loves. Yeah, right! But at least we had fun.
